Kostas Vaxevanis free after found innocent from the court

Kostas Vaxevanis, journalist and editor of Hot Doc Magazine was found innocent earlier by the Greek court; Vaxevanis was accused of violating the law on personal data, after publishing the famous “Lagarde list” with the name of 2.059 Greek politicians, businessmen and other individuals who sent their money in Swiss bank accounts during the country’s debt crisis. The journalist denied the charges, nevertheless the prosecutor had suggested his guilt. After hearing the court’s verdict, the audience and hundreds of journalists and other individuals erupted in applause. The arrest of Kostas Vaxevanis on Sunday had shocked the whole Greek nation, launching a great solidarity network in the country and abroad. (1)
